Talking books library
Talking books
The term “talking books” is used for digitally recorded books and are mainly addressed to people who face difficulties with printed books, such as visually impaired people.
The talking books are for people with visual impairments the easiest way to access the contents of the books, since they are easy to use, they do not require special equipment or a computer and can cover a wide range of publishing activity, from university books, to technical manuals and books for children.
Recording Studios - Lending Library
For the production of Talking Books and their subsequent distribution to the blind and partially sighted readers of the country and abroad through the Lending Library, there are 3 well-equipped Studios, where scientific books and books of various interest are recorded, with emphasis on Greek and Foreign Literature. The department also covers daily needs of blind students and readers in notes, etc. The Lending Library of Talking Books, which is constantly enriched, includes more than 6,000 titles of Books, available in electronic form e.g. on CD, DVD, USB.
Internet - Digital Platform
In order to ensure the unhindered and fast access of the blind readers of all ages and all places to the available digital material, an Internet-Digital Talking Books Platform has been created.
